Chantal McMahon

Business Services

Chantal is a proud Bardi woman, born in Derby, and has spent most of her life living and working in the Kimberley. She commenced with Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) in 2016 as an Executive Assistant. Following an organisational restructure in 2023, she was appointed to the role of Executive Officer, where she manages the Business Services Team. This team is responsible for reception, assets, property, vehicles, stores and cleaning services. She has previously worked with Derby Aboriginal Health Service (DAHS) and WA Country Health Service (WACHS) and brings over 15 years experience across the ACCHO and State health sectors. Chantal has strong capability in governance, project management, and supporting Boards and Executive teams. She holds a Diploma of Leadership and Management and has successfully completed the Aboriginal Leadership and Excellence Program.

In 2024, Chantal was one of four First Nations people selected to participate in the inaugural Emerging First Nations Leaders program under the United States Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The IVLP is the US State Department’s premier professional exchange program, fostering connections across government, business, and civil society. This program marked the first IVLP developed in recognition of Australia’s First Nations peoples.

Growing up in the Kimberley and being deeply proud of her cultural heritage inspires Chantal’s work in the ACCHS sector. She reflects that while our communities face ongoing challenges, she is motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference. She is passionate about supporting Aboriginal people to be strong and healthy through access to high-quality, culturally safe and appropriate health care, and recognises the vital role that advocacy and effective back-end services play in making this possible.
Chantal has a profound appreciation for the Kimberley and its people, reflecting that living, working and raising our families in such a unique and vibrant region is a privilege. She is constantly inspired by the strength, resilience and spirit of our communities.
