
Mark Heffernan is from Southern WA, between the Porongurup Range and Stirling Ranges, which is about 60 km North of Albany on Noongar country.
He has worked at Southern Aboriginal Corporation in Albany as an Accountant, for Elders Pastoral as Branch Accountant at Mount Barker, Katanning and Albany, and earlier in his career at Solar Hart Manufacturing factory and Head Office as an Assistant Cost Accountant. He has also operated his own Accounting Practice that specialised in Taxation, Business Advice and Planning, Business Restructures, Financial Planning and Superannuation, and Retirement Planning
The Kimberley Region is massive in size and diversity, and Mark loves all the massive rivers and the landscapes, particularly in the East Kimberley. He believes in what KAMS stands for and believes that Aboriginal community controlled Health will achieve better results than mainstream system. He admires the KAMS Board and knows that together they are working to achieve great outcomes over time. His goal is to assist making KAMS financially strong and sustainable and creating a footprint that will be in place for a very long time.
